[Urgent] iOS App Store Build Integrity Verification Issue
1780033271008
Hello, this is the DoveRunner team.
This is an urgent notice regarding an issue that may impact app execution for iOS builds distributed through the App Store. In some cases, additional files or paths are introduced during the App Store distribution process that did not exist at build time, which can cause the DoveRunner iOS SDK integrity check to fail and terminate the app at runtime.
The DoveRunner iOS SDK performs runtime integrity verification based on file hash information generated from the built IPA. If there is a difference between the files/paths present at build time and those present in the App Store-distributed build, the SDK may treat this as a tampering event and fail the integrity verification, resulting in app termination.
Key details
Observed timing
This behavior has been observed since around May 26, 2026.
Impact
For iOS apps using the DoveRunner iOS SDK:
The app may function correctly in TestFlight, but
The App Store-distributed build may experience integrity check failures at runtime,
Leading to unexpected app termination due to additional files/paths introduced during App Store distribution.
DoveRunner mitigation
DoveRunner has applied a whitelist (integrity check exception) update for the affected paths at the
generate_hashstage,Which is the post-IPA-build phase where integrity data (file hashes) is generated.
Effective time of whitelist update
This whitelist update has been fully applied as of:
28 May 2026 at 09:00 KST
28 May 2026 at 00:00 GMT
Action required for customers
For any iOS apps built before May 28, 2026, please do not distribute these builds to the App Store, even if they work correctly in TestFlight.
Instead, please:
Rebuild the app.
Run
generate_hashagain in the updated environment to regenerate integrity information.Upload and distribute the newly built IPA to the App Store.
If an app already distributed via the App Store shows runtime termination due to integrity verification failure,
Please contact the DoveRunner support channel as soon as possible,
Including details such as the app version, build date, and the DoveRunner SDK version in use.
DoveRunner is closely monitoring this issue and will provide additional updates if there are further changes in the App Store distribution behavior or if additional measures are required.
Thank you,
DoveRunner Team
